The genuine Pella bologna has been made here in Pella for over 140 years. Pella bologna is a lean all beef bologna. It can be slice for cheese and crackers, boiled in water, or cooked in a casserole. Any way you fix it will make a happy dutchmen.

Why are you not selling to grocery stores in Des Moines?v I live in Urbandale, shop at Fareway, Dahls and HyVee and none of these stores have this bologna and cannot give a reason why.

Please check in at the meat counter in the stores you visit. I'm certain our products are available at many stores in the DM area, including the Urbandale area. If you check at the meat counter, they'll either know where it's located or can talk to the distribution driver when he comes in again and make sure he gets the product lines well stocked. Ingredients: Beef, beef hearts, water, smoked cured beef (cured with water, salt, brown sugar, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite), cereal (corn, wheat, rye, oat and rice flours), salt, spices, sodium phosphate, dextrose, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite.

how long will it take to ship to denver colorado?

We ship all orders in boxes with insulated liners and ice packs. That way it can travel the 2-3 days to it's destination and arrive in good condition to it's recipient.

Ulrich Bologna that is in a package has a best sell date how far past can you go it has been in the frig would like to put in soup if still good, or how can you tell its bad? Diane

I'd probably do a look, smell and/or taste test. If the liquid in the package has gotten "milky" then it may pushing it's timeline. If the smell is still a nice fresh smokey smell, it may be fine. If both of those attributes are good, then I'd potentially taste it and use it. Everyone's fridge and handling is different, so I have no "perfect" answer for you. Keep in mind for next time that you can put these items in the freezer and have them available to pull out and use at your convenience.

After purchase at your meat market how long can u keep ring bologna in fridge?

So, there are many factors that affect that. I would treat it like a deli meat and try to use it up within 5-10 days of opening. If the package remains unopened and you're not sure when the need to use will arise, consider putting it in the freezer to store until you do need it. If the package has been in your fridge unopened for a while already, again, treat it like deli meat and check it for freshness, (smell, look and even taste) upon opening. Setting it in the fridge to that for an hour or so before you want to use it will provide a great product that is perfectly ready to enjoy. You can even freeze partial packages, just wrap them as airtight as possible before putting them in the freezer. 

Does Pella Bologna have onion/garlic or onion/garlic powder? I used to have it all the time as a kid and love it but as an adult have been diagnosed with an onion/garlic allergy. Thanks!

Thank you for the inquiry. As follows is the official ingredient statement for the Pella Bologna. This is the base for all the flavors as well, so if you'd like to consider the cheese ones, just know that the additions to those ingredients would be the cheese components and I can verify but most of those should be safe as well. Another thing to know, if interested, is that the gluten free version eliminates the "CEREAL...FLOURS)" portion.

I move to Florida and I was wondering if you ship

We sure do! Place your order, everything will be prepped and packed into an insulated shipper with ice packs and sent off to you with FedEx expedited service to get to you in 2-3 days after leaving here. We typically ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only, for your planning purposes.

Can you ship Pella Ring BOLOGNA to Texas and it still be good when it gets here? wasn't sure if you did shipments in dry ice or not?

We do not use dry ice in our shipments as, through trial and error, we found that insulated liners with ice packs works better. Not only do we like the results better, but customers are happier at shipment receipt with such packing.
That being said, yes, we ship to Texas, often and the shipments are in ready to enjoy state when they get there. We send using FedEx or UPS expedited delivery so that the shipment reaches the destination in 2-3 days.

Just want to check with your bologna is you casings beef or pork ? And also do you mix any pork or this is all beef?

Thank you for your inquiry. We use a natural beef casing for our Pella Bologna rings and our Pella Bologna recipe is all beef, for the rings or the sandwich sliced versions.

An FYI for you, our beef summer sausage with fibrous removable casing and beef snack sticks in beef collagen casings are also all beef should you be interested in that information.

Do you know if your bologna is similar to the “Britt Bologna” north Iowans grew up with and loved?

Oh, that's a tough one. I do not know what made the Britt Bologna special but if it was a traditional, all beef, recipe with rich smokey flavor laced with black pepper then it may be close. We have been compared to Lebanon Bologna out of Pennsylvania, if you've ever had the fortunate luck of trying that one.
